My Version: Taylor Curtis.

New

My Version chats to stars and people of influence to give a glimpse into their time as a teen and see the things they are currently obsessed with!

Say hello to one of Sky’s youngest broadcasters and former first-class rugby player, Taylor Curtis, who will be playing a key role in the coverage of World Rugby’s brand-new women’s rugby competition WXV 1.

Obsessed RN.

Currently bingeing:

Currently I’m bingeing the ‘Beckham’ doco. I wasn’t exposed to a lot of football growing up so watching his documentary and not knowing the result of his games/career it really blew my mind.

Song on repeat:

At the moment specifically Morgan Wallen, I deserve a drink, Luke Combs, See me now. I love Country music.

Favourite Insta account to follow:

Crowd Goes Wild (not bias at all) or @milligram96 she’s quite relatable and funny through her skits.

Must have beauty product:

Frank body lip tint, Cherry Bomb. It’s a lip gloss that doesn’t leave your lips dry or too sticky.

The item of clothing I’m definitely over wearing:

Ruby black Fire-birds. They end up going with everything.

Currently reading:

Spare (Prince Harry’s book) but there is no timeframe on when I’ll finish it.

Snacking on:

Guacamole and Corn-chips. Obsessed since coming back from Mexico.

Can’t stop watching on TikTok:

Any type of singing video, if someone has an amazing voice, I’ll find myself down a rabbit hole.

Dreaming of:

Dreaming of putting together my next travel plans.

Next place on the list to travel to:

South Africa, my mum is from Zimbabwe so Id love to see where she grew up and explore the rest of SA.

I’m currently inspired by:

@Lissiemackintosh, she started a TikTok talking about everything F1 and I think it’s inspiring to see someone go out of there way and create their own brand, identity and hold their own in such a male-dominated sport.

My favourite way to relax is:

Food and drinks with friends in the sun. It could be at the beach or at home.

I stay healthy by:

Keeping active, playing rugby league and sevens at the moment. I’ve always played rugby union so I thought I’d give league ago…and I’m hooked. Great way to meet people, stay fit and challenge yourself.

When I was younger…

One thing I love about Gen-Z is:

Their ability to be creative and informed. I swear I was never that smart when I was that age.

If I could give my teenage self one bit of advice, what would it be:

Don’t hold back, if you’re waiting for the ‘perfect time’ there’s no such thing, bite the bullet and do it now.

My favourite part of being a teenager was:

Having no major responsibilities and hanging out with my best friends. (Sounds small but you might not always be in the same city).

My first job was:

Worked as a waitress at a bar and restaurant. Always appreciate customer service skills.

My dream job as a teen was:

Being a sports commentator for Sky Sport and I’m now living a bigger dream than I ever imagined.

Best piece of advice I ever received as a teen was:

Never worry about what people think of you because most of the time they’re worried about themselves.

My biggest fashion faux-pas was:

Mousse in my hair…goodness a lot of trial and error and I fell more on the error side.

My biggest inspiration was:

Melodie Robinson, she was a Black Fern and a Sky Sport commentator who was amazing, wild and care free. I reached out to her one day to express how keen I was to become a commentator one day just like her, she helped me gain contacts and that’s pretty much how I got to where I am today.

WXV is World Rugby’s brand-new women’s rugby competition featuring the sport’s best teams – including the world champion Black Ferns, who will host England, Wales, France, Australia, and Canada in the top division of the competition (known as WXV 1).

All WXV matches will be live on Sky Sport, and Taylor will play a key role in leading Sky’s WXV 1 match day coverage.
